This is the episode is part 9 in a study on the Kingdom of God. Jesus answers the question about when is the Kingdom of God coming. The people have a different idea of what that means, probably expecting an earthly kingdom, lines on a map and someone on a throne.

I always struggle with the mina parable, but find it very interesting. I see it as yes it is Jesus going away and to come back. The Pharisees hated him and of course had many stirred up to hate Jesus. Jesus had given instruction to spread the Word, disciple, put no other God before God and follow his rules, not man’s rules. When he came back the one man was a faithful follower maybe the additional minas were the growth in his own faith, spreading the Word and through that bring others to God. The second man did well but not as committed, as the first but did put in effort and followed the rules pretty well. The third clearly didn’t like Jesus anyway as is show by his words calling him evil etc, and basically saying I hid your mina. your word, your teachings and instructions and gave him back his opportunity for eternal life.
